Course Description: Crisis Intervention is psychotherapy that focuses on acute critical situations with the aim of restoring the person to the level of functioning before the crisis. Crises are emotionally hazardous situations that place victims at high risk for maladaptive coping or even for being immobilized. Responding quickly, efficiently, and effectively are the primary objectives of an effective crisis solution and the focus of this course.

The clinician will be able to identify how cultural sensitivity plays a role in effective crisis intervention.
