Intermediate level course
Course Description: While laws are frequently cited within the text of this course, you should be aware that laws can be interpreted differently depending on the specific situation. This is a course which will provide you with an understanding of basic ethical issues which Psychologists often face. This course will help you identify areas where you may need to seek consultation with other mental health professionals or beyond.
Objectives:
1. The psychologist will be able to examine the problematic issues associated with boundary violations.
2.The psychologist will be able to classify how the supervisory role can be used to prevent the violation of boundaries in mental health counseling.
3. The psychologist will be able to dramatize how enactment may lead to sexual misconduct amount practitioners.
4. The psychologist will be able to differentiate the ethical and legal principals of confidentiality.
5.The psychologist will be able to determine confidentiality laws and the impact of those laws on the therapeutic relationship.
